    Carbon Coating Quick Kit

I am thoroughly impressed with this kit. I live in Florida so humidity and moisture create a real rust problem in my shop. I’ve tried varying methods of prevention but none of them even come close to how The Carbon Method product worked. My cast iron tool tabletops look brand new and wood stock simply glides across their surface now! I will NEVER use anything else now that I see what Carbon Method can do!

    Carbon Coating

Published by RON TALASKA on 6th Feb 2023

My cast iron tool tops were in dire need of attention and I decided on the carbon coating quick kit to help revive them. Although I was unable to achieve a "perfectly spotless surface" prior to applying the coating, the overall final results actually exceeded my expectations. Time will tell relative to the durability of the product, but the extremely smooth finish will certainly enhance the safety of using my tools. I was able to completely refinish my table saw, bandsaw, scroll saw and bench top drill press. Well worth the cost!

So far so good. I mean, everything is great after a week. Time is the test for this product. Not much has elapsed yet, but they still wanted a review so it gets 3 stars. Ask me in 6 months.

    CARBON COATING QUICK KIT

I did 4 coats on a grizzly bandsaw and desk top jointer, dewalt 735 planer and a sawstop 3hp pc 52". I had to order a few extra towels and pads. Had enough of the cleaner and carbon coat. Seems to be doing its job, time will tell

    Carbon Coating Quick Kit

Published by Carl on 30th Jan 2023

I bought this product after watching Jason Bent's excellent YouTube video about it. I wanted something that would protect my table saw top but didn't require frequent maintenance. And this seemed like it was just the ticket. A few things; I'm a hobbyist woodworker so my saw doesn't get all that much use, I live in the desert southwest where rust isn't much of a problem but body oils and sweat are a real problem. After watching Jason's video and the tutorial on Carbon Method website I was ready to apply the product. Application is exactly as demonstrated in both of those videos. The hardest part was cleaning the top with the scouring pads and WD40. It's messy so be prepared. I setup a barrier so the WD40 didn't spray all over my outfeed table/bench, etc. I used an old ROS which made the job pretty easy. After thoroughly cleaning the top I applied the graphene coating to the top in sections as directed in the instructions, leveled it (which is a lot like "tipping" a polyurethane finish on wood) and then buffed it. Everything went just the same as in the videos. No problems at all. Just follow the directions! The only negative is now I had to wait for it to cure. The directions say at least 24 hours and up to a week. I waited about 3 days. Long days. Very long days. It was tough being without a table saw. It really is the heart of a woodshop. After the 3 days I applied the Carbon Glide which also was extremely easy. The saw looks great! The only thing now is to wait and see how it holds up. I'll be re-applying the Carbon Glide every couple of weeks or so. I also plan on using this on my jointer, and hand planes. If you're tired of having to keep waxing your saw, etc. I highly recommend giving this a shot. BTW, I had seen both Blacktail Studios and Black Forest Wood Co use a ceramic coating on their big epoxy river tables and was very impressed with the water/moisture resistance it provides.

    Carbon coating quick kit.

It hasn't been on my table saw long, but it was easy to apply, and even though I can't comment on it's rust preventing effectiveness yet, the top of the saw is much slipperier now. I even put it on the bottom of my crosscut sled and saw improvement there also.

    Time Saver

I hate, hate, hate waxing my table saw and jointer. I was very skeptical of how this would work but so far, so good! I love the idea that I can do this once or twice a year and it will hold, and the Carbon Glide will refresh the "slideability." I've only had it on for a couple of weeks, so will be itnerested to see how long it really lasts, but as of now it's great
