Carbon Coating Kit

Received kit in about a week after order. Application instruction were great and watching video on youtube was great. Had a question and called talked to Dan. He was very helpful with my mistake. I am buying more for my other machines. I am recommending to all my fellow woodworkers and machinists.

I went thru application to my Sawstop PCS and Powermatic 6 inch jointer. The cleanse bottle essentially ran out. There is a small amount left of the actual carbon coat protectant after 4 repetitions so not enough for more than 2 machines. There were only 3 applicators and instruction is unclear as to whether I can reuse the 2 sided applicator - I used one side for each application so 2 applicators were used up with the 4 repetitions. I have not yet used the carbon glide as instructions were unclear - it said do not use liquid for at least 24 hours after carbon coating. I plan to put glide on now and then it seems I have to wait 7 days for all to harden. You might want to clarify that step (adding glide after carbon coat) in the instructions.

Everything went well, did my table saw & jointer/planer. I'll have to wait and see how long it lasts

Impressed so far with the coating. I live in high humidity and waxes just don’t cut it

Fantastic product and easy to follow instructions. My table saw cast iron top looks better than new…. Moving to the planner/jointer combo tonight! Hopefully, it will last as long as they claim.

Excellent product

I bought this product for my son after using it myself on all of the tools in my woodworking shop. So far, it has held up well with no rust on any tool, however, my workshop is in an air conditioned basement so I would not expect to see much rust. The carbon glide product looks like you just polished the surface after the carbon method goes on to protect the surface. The only reason I gave it four stars was that it was too new for me to evaluate completely and I am hoping the cost comes down after more customers become aware of the product since I consider the cost to be a little high right now.

I’m really excited to see the long term performance of this product. The application was surprisingly simple and honestly the saw just looks better. I emailed Carbon Method with a comment and they wrote back in about an hour; really phenomenal experience all around. Thanks!

I am more than happy to rate the product on google- but wanted you to see it before posting. “This is of course a product that really will take time to prove itself - but I feel comfortable giving it a good rating. I purchased the package to do 1-2 machines- if I were to complain about anything- it would be the amount of cleaner given in the kit. For me- it barley covered my table saw- most likely user error but if I ran out so quickly- others will too. The application video was top notch - process was simple and maintenance applications should be a breeze- I’m happy enough to have thrown away my turtle wax”

While I have only had this product on my equipment for about two weeks, I can say at the outset that the surfaces that I treated with these materials looks outstanding. Very easy to apply, the only difficult part is removing the original coating. I chose to sand mine with a 500 grit felt sanding pad prior to applying the carbon method. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that I think because of the proprietary nature of the product, it could be more reasonably priced.
