    Carbon Method Seems to Work

Published by Eric on 22nd Apr 2025

I've had it applied to my band saw and jointer/planer for 6 months. No issues so far. I also used the cleaning product and my jointer/planer looks almost brand new! However, the glide product did not work for me and I went back to paste wax.

    Carbon Method for steel tabletops

Published by Ron H on 21st Feb 2025

A friend of mine who lives in Grand Rapids suggested this product. I’m in Florida and it’s hard to keep steel machinery free of rust. This stuff is unbelievable. Keeps tablesaws, etc completely rust free. I gave it to my son in Virginia for Christmas. I talked my neighbors into trying it out. This is without a doubt the very best product on the market, even tho it’s a little pricey

    Way better than wax

Published by Chris on 11th Feb 2025

It’s pricey but worth it, I live in Florida humidity where I was having to apply paste wax basically every month or two. I applied this stuff on my tablesaw, jointer, and bandsaw tables maybe 6 months ago or so and am only showing the tiniest bits of light surface rust in ONE of the miter slots on my bandsaw where I honestly forgot to coat the miter slots until I was working on the last coat for the table. And even having only put one coat on the miter slot , the amount of rust I’m seeing at 6 months is so minimal that I’m not even bothered by it. I bought some more carbon method just to have it hand for when I am ready to touch things up but so far haven’t seen any signs of wear or need to recoat on any of the surfaces where I didn’t forget to do multiple coats. I can’t say enough good about this stuff

    Repurchase

    Published by Addington60 on 20th Jan 2025

I just upgraded my table saw and used Carbon Coat three years ago on the one I just sold and it still looked great. Naturally my new saw got the Carbon Method treatment right off the bat.

    Rust Prevention

Published by Mike Carr on 5th Nov 2024

I live in a temperate rain forest in Western North Carolina and rust is an issue with all the cast iron surfaces in my shop. Treating my 20 year old table saw with traditional rust prevention methods only works for a short time before it needs another treatment. I decided to give Carbon Coat a try after watching a Wood Whisperer episode and couldn't be more pleased. I treated the saw several months ago and have not had any rust issues since and the treated cast iron is slicker than ever before. I treated an old jointer and new bandsaw this week and expect similar results. Great product, give it a try for problem cast iron rust prevention.

    Carbon Coat

Published by Rhodes Ave. Woodsmith on 3rd Aug 2024

Great product for protecting all my cast iron tools. The shop is heated for the winter but not air conditioned during the summer, so humidity and dew point temperatures are an issue here in Missouri. The cast iron tools get coated in 5 to 6 month schedule. Found this the same time a purchased a new tablesaw, and considering this is a pro shop, the saw still looks new,

    Carbon Coat

Published by Ken W. on 25th Jun 2024

I believe Carbon Coat is going to be the answer I have been looking for. If you are like me with limited shop time then I would suspect that you would rather build something instead of stripping and re-waxing your cast iron tops. I have an unconditioned shop space which is subject to the bipolar weather of Southwest PA. My saw was a big investment so it only made sense to me to protect it with another investment. Prep, Prep, Prep, and then prep again is my only advice. When you think its clean clean it again. Customer support was also on point which is a huge plus in my book.

    Amazing stuff

Published by Wes on 13th May 2024

I applied this to all of my cast iron surfaces, as well as table saw fence and phonelic router table base. There is zero rust and all the surfaces have remained in factory new condition for 6 months in an unconditioned shop in western PA (we get a lot of humidity and temperature changes). Combined with carbon glide both surfaces are super slick. Can’t recommend this stuff enough.

    carbon coat

Published by Richard Barrow on 12th Feb 2024

Worked very well on my machines. Coated 6 different machines with 4 coats. 4 coats seemed to work best for my SCM sliding table saw and jointer/ planer. These surfaces are not as initially smooth as american style machines. I am very happy with the surfaces which seem very smooth and much more slick now.

Excellent product, no rust even in Seattle

Published by Unknown on 7th Jan 2024

January in Seattle means rain and high humidity. Which meant a rusty table saw until starting to use Carbon Coat about 6 months ago. Not even a hint of rust, and slick as can be with the "Carbon Glide". I highly recommend this product, liked it so much I ordered another kit for my hand planes and other power tools. Take the time, install as per directions, it will serve you well even in Seattle:).
