    Rust Prevention

Published by Mike Carr on 5th Nov 2024

I live in a temperate rain forest in Western North Carolina and rust is an issue with all the cast iron surfaces in my shop. Treating my 20 year old table saw with traditional rust prevention methods only works for a short time before it needs another treatment. I decided to give Carbon Coat a try after watching a Wood Whisperer episode and couldn't be more pleased. I treated the saw several months ago and have not had any rust issues since and the treated cast iron is slicker than ever before. I treated an old jointer and new bandsaw this week and expect similar results. Great product, give it a try for problem cast iron rust prevention.

    Carbon Coat

Great product for protecting all my cast iron tools. The shop is heated for the winter but not air conditioned during the summer, so humidity and dew point temperatures are an issue here in Missouri. The cast iron tools get coated in 5 to 6 month schedule. Found this the same time a purchased a new tablesaw, and considering this is a pro shop, the saw still looks new,

    Carbon Coat

I believe Carbon Coat is going to be the answer I have been looking for. If you are like me with limited shop time then I would suspect that you would rather build something instead of stripping and re-waxing your cast iron tops. I have an unconditioned shop space which is subject to the bipolar weather of Southwest PA. My saw was a big investment so it only made sense to me to protect it with another investment. Prep, Prep, Prep, and then prep again is my only advice. When you think its clean clean it again. Customer support was also on point which is a huge plus in my book.

    Amazing stuff

Published by Wes on 13th May 2024

I applied this to all of my cast iron surfaces, as well as table saw fence and phonelic router table base. There is zero rust and all the surfaces have remained in factory new condition for 6 months in an unconditioned shop in western PA (we get a lot of humidity and temperature changes). Combined with carbon glide both surfaces are super slick. Can’t recommend this stuff enough.

    carbon coat

Worked very well on my machines. Coated 6 different machines with 4 coats. 4 coats seemed to work best for my SCM sliding table saw and jointer/ planer. These surfaces are not as initially smooth as american style machines. I am very happy with the surfaces which seem very smooth and much more slick now.

Excellent product, no rust even in Seattle

Published by Unknown on 7th Jan 2024

January in Seattle means rain and high humidity. Which meant a rusty table saw until starting to use Carbon Coat about 6 months ago. Not even a hint of rust, and slick as can be with the "Carbon Glide". I highly recommend this product, liked it so much I ordered another kit for my hand planes and other power tools. Take the time, install as per directions, it will serve you well even in Seattle:).

    Carbon Coat

I wish I had used this the moment I had purchased my table saw. It does a phenomenal job of coating and protecting the cast iron surface. The application process is straightforward and well worth the effort. Make sure you give the product plenty of time to cure with at least 3 or 4 coats. This along with the Carbon Glide provides an ideal slick surface. Excellent product!!

    Carbon Coat

My SawStop table saw seemed to attract rust. I waxed it, I used Boeshield, and anything else I could find but it still rusted. I ran across Carbon Coat while searching for a solution and said why not. No more rust. I live in the Deep South where humidity is the norm. It’s been on for over a month and NO rust. I have now applied it to my band saw and jointer. An added benefit is low friction especially if you apply Carbon Glide after it cures. This stuff is the real deal

    Application of Carbon method

Published by Charlie on 11th Jul 2023

So far the product looks really good. I just applied the product to my table saw and my jointer surfaces about two weeks ago. The product was applied per the instructions. I found the product was very easy to apply. The results so far have met my expectations.
