Description

Preparation for Carbon Coat is now easier than ever!

Our Reconditioning Oil is the ideal solution for bringing your cast iron tool surfaces back to life. When used with our Abrasive Pads, Carbon Method Reconditioning Oil lubricates and removes surface rust, staining, and pitted oxidation in cast iron surfaces, and is our recommended and ideal process to prep your tools for Carbon Coating.

Specially formulated to stay under the abrasive pad where the oil is doing the work, Reconditioning Oil works faster than standard-issue lubrication oil, saving time and minimizing the headaches associated with cast iron maintenance and restoration.

With Carbon Method Reconditioning Oil and Abrasive Pads, you can remove scratches and polish cast iron up to a mirror finish if desired. You can take a tired, aged, cast iron tool and make it look brand new again!

    Reconditioning Oil

Published by Bob D on 13th Mar 2024

The product worked fairly well but left some rust stains after using all three pads that switching to W-D 40 got out in the first pass. In my case, you comparison video was not what I experienced. In the future I will use W-D 40 before the Carbon Coat which I am very pleased with.

    Reconditioning oil

Published by Richard Barrow on 12th Feb 2024

I did not have much rust to remove from 6 different cast iron tops, so my comments are just about cleaning and polishing. I found wd40 to be comparible and easier to apply. The spray head is a little tedious to use. I ended up scrubbing by hand as my orbital sander spit the oil everywhere for both oils.

The reconditioning oil worked as advertised! Very effective on removing rust when used per the video instructions. And it smells nice to!

This reconditioning oil did a good job, did not clean 100% but then i have not cleaned my saw table in 5+ years. I was happy with results.

Will use this in place of WD-40 in future applications. It produced better results with less mess. It goes a long way,

    reconditing oil

Published by Thomas Long on 27th Mar 2023

I used wd 40 on red scotch pads first to get the heavy rust off and used a new red scotch pad with the reconditioning oil as a finishing touch before the carbon method application. This stuff goes a long way and the tables looked amazing.

    Home Run!

Published by Rick on 15th Dec 2022

Having watched a lot of YouTube video’s on protecting woodworking equipment, trying your product was an easy solution. Using the Reconditioning Oil was so much better than using that other product (WD40). Less spreading and almost instant results removing rust spots. My table saw looks like new. Applying the “Carbon Cleanse and Carbon Coat“ was so effortless I went back to watch the video to see if I was missing something. After curing applying the “Carbon Glide” was much easier than the spay I used in the past. Overall, Carbon Method you have hit this out of the park. Thanks.

    Reconditioning oil

This reconditioning oil works fantastically. I received it yesterday and couldn’t wait to try it out. The cast iron on my table saw, jointer, and planer were not in bad condition but this stuff has really made them look a considerable amount better than they were.
