Hey, it’s Zack, back with another Pro Tip Tuesday from Carbon Method!
Let’s talk about the beauty of going thin. One of the standout qualities of Nanofinish is how densely it crosslinks. It forms a film that’s as tough and tightly knit as a urethane – but without all the added thickness. We recommend keeping it simple, and keeping it thin.
Here’s one of my favorite approaches: start with two light layers of Danish oil – just enough to enrich the wood and seal the fibers. Then finish with Nanofinish as the final seal.
The result? An ultra-thin, high-performance finish that keeps you visually and physically connected to the wood. You still feel the natural touch of the surface. You still see the depth and character of the grain.
But you’ve got serious protection – without a plastic-looking film on top. It’s tactile. It’s intentional. It’s the kind of finish that provides ample protection without getting in the way – letting the wood speak for itself.
