Pro Tip Tuesday: Filling in Scratches with Nanofinish

5th May 2026

Hey, it’s Zack, back with another Pro Tip Tuesday from Carbon Method!

Let’s talk about Nanofinish and scratched epoxy surfaces. We often get asked, particularly by people working with epoxy tabletops, if Nanofinish can fill in scratches in the surface.

And the answer is yes – to a point. Nanofinish can help minimize the appearance of scratches, but it’s not a flood coat. It’s a micro-thin finish, so it doesn’t have the body to bridge deeper gouges or fill in wide gaps.

Even after sanding to 4000 grit, or polishing with compounds up to 5000, you might still see some light-catching scratches, because the base of those scratches often has microfractures in the epoxy itself, and that fractured surface reflects light differently.

Here’s where Nanofinish helps: it penetrates into the bottom of those scratches, chemically bonds, and reduces that bright white fracture effect. So even if it doesn’t “fill in” in the traditional sense, it still blends and softens the damage visually.

Will Nanofinish fix every scratch? No. Will it reduce how much those scratches stand out? Absolutely. It’s like giving your finish a second chance to shine!
