Pro Tip Tuesday: Why no Graphene?

Pro Tip Tuesday: Why no Graphene?

1st Apr 2025

It’s Dan, back with another Pro Tip Tuesday from Carbon Method!

Here’s another question I hear all the time: why doesn’t Carbon Method use graphene in our Nanofinish?

The main reason is optical clarity. Graphene Oxide is not a clear particle – depending on the type of graphene, it appears brown or black in color. That means that graphene would drastically impede the depth of “pop” that Nanofinish gives!

The optical clarity we prioritize creates just a little bit of space between the wood finish and the world. That physical depth and smoothing provides excellent contrast characteristics.

So remember: there is beauty to be found through the clarity of Carbon Method Nanofinish.
