It’s Dan, back with another Pro Tip Tuesday from Carbon Method!
When I started using hand planes I would spend way too much time getting the iron set just right – but then how do I put it on the bench? I don't want to knock that blade out of square. Do I set it iron down? Or on its side?
Well, there’s a better way: just grab a few BenchNuts and now the plane is fully supported! The blade isn’t making contact with the bench and I don't risk knocking it out of square by placing it on its side.
BenchNuts have so many uses but one of my favorites is “plane pillow mode”.
Don’t sleep on BenchNuts - well, unless you’re a hand plane.
